Some of my favorite holiday memories are in my grandma’s kitchen, watching her cook up a storm with a smile on her face and completely at ease (even though she’s cooking and entertaining for 14 people). When dinner was served, we’d all gather around the table and eat until we were stuffed and have no regrets because it was so delicious! Now, as I’m older and she is no longer with us, my Mom and I have been able to pass on the holiday family recipes; some Grandma saved, others we have had to test and try out multiple times! So, I’m going to come out and say it: sugar cookies aren’t my favorite. A lot of times they are dry, crumbly and a bit flavorless…even if they are super sweet. But when it’s Christmas time, and you’re hanging out joking with family and making pretty-rough looking frosted cookies, I can’t think of a better treat.
